2022 Goals And Why Most People Fail

Are you ready with your 2022 goals?

Let’s be honest with each other.

The vast majority of people don’t set goals or fail at the goals they set. Why is this?Are achieving goals only for the “high achievers” or ultra disciplined few?

Not entirely.

There are a few simple key steps you can take to stay on track for 2022 and beyond.

Staying on track with your 2022 goals

You don’t need a life coach or to read a long book. The world is full of both and it’s not that complicated.

How many times have we seen “the best you now” books on Amazon or stores or the young life coach girl on social media giving positive vibes and advice in a bathing suit on at the beach that has it all figured out?

Certainly that brings a quiet internal laugh to most of us. (This may be a future blog post for later this year so stay tuned).

If you can follow these few obvious but often overlooked areas of advice you will drastically increase your chance of success and staying on track for 2022 and beyond.

#1 You must stay disciplined

The world is full of motivated people and ideas. You don’t need to teach motivation. Most have it. The hard part is discipline. You want to lose weight or save money and I’m sure you really are motivated to do so. Sadly about the 3rd week of January you fall back into the old way but are probably still motivated to change.

The highest achievers stay disciplined.

You won’t notice any physical changes after a few weeks of dieting or working out at the gym but over time you will. Just a few degrees of change is a massive trajectory change in anything we do. This sounds simple but implementing discipline (most can not and do not) is absolutely key.

#2 Always write out your goals

This is simple but statistically 90% of people don’t.

Think about that for a minute.

Only 1 in 10 actually write down their goals.

Write them down. Don’t worry about the how or why. Just write them down.

#3 Create a routine – then stick to it!

Sure you could call this a 1st cousin in relation to discipline but everything implodes without a routine.

Get up at the same time every day. If you don’t get up early then at least get up on point at noon daily!

Eat a high fat and protein breakfast. Start your day with Lucky Charms and this sugar spike is sure to wreck you later in the day.

Make your bed each morning. Heck that’s one task accomplished and a positive start on any day.

We are wired and do better when we have structure and routines. When we lack this, then life ultimately spins out of control and we have chaos.

Make your 2022 goals as easy as 1-2-3

Write your goals down! Get on a routine! Stay disciplined!
